Kim Il Sung, Great Person of Popular Traits
|
|
Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung, deeply revered by the people the world over, led a humble and simple life in his lifetime. In battles he was a frontline soldier and in creation and construction he was a pacemaker. There was a battle in Luozigou in June Juche 23 (1934) during the anti-Japanese armed struggle. To occupy a fort the enemy called impregnable was decisive of victory in the battle. At that time, Kim Il Sung rushed towards the fort in the van of the guerrillas to occupy it in less than 30 minutes. In March 1958, the President visited a department store in Wonsan City. At the hosiery counter he pointed to a pair of common socks to buy it. As a saleswoman was hesitating, he said he had to wear the same socks as others. All things he used in his lifetime, including clothes, food and articles of daily use, were little different from common people's. He would personally taste soy and soybean paste to judge their quality and discussed state affairs with ordinary people. His personal attraction was based on such popular traits. |
