Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, visited the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum on July 8. The museum has more than 80 rooms where lots of revolutionary relics and exhibits are displayed. The dear respected Kim Jong Un went round rooms devoted to the periods of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, democratic revolution, operations, services and arms of armed forces, the room for the victory in the war, the Chinese People's Volunteers, international support and encouragement, weapons of merit, captured weaponry, and the room showing a panoramic view of the battle to liberate Taejon and various other rooms. He looked round with deep emotion relics showing the undying revolutionary feats the President performed by leading the war to victory and the intense loyalty to the party and the leader, popular heroism and noble spiritual and moral traits displayed by the army and people of the DPRK in the struggle to carry out the strategic and tactical policies set forth by the President and his orders. Seeing the relics and mementoes, he noted it was a miracle of history that the army and people of the DPRK beat back the armed invaders of 16 nations including the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces and won a shining victory in the war under the wise leadership of the President. Visiting the museum, one can keenly realize once again that the young DPRK could defeat the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world and their satellite forces because it had a great idea, outstanding strategy and tactics and indomitable fighting spirit. One can say in a word the victory in the war was the victory of ideology, strategy and tactics and spirit, he noted, and went on: Under the leadership of the party and the leader the army and people of the DPRK performed immortal feats and won a great victory in the war, becoming a heroic army and people who defeated the U.S. imperialist aggressors for the first time in the world. He stressed the need for the generations to come to successfully carry forward the exploits performed by the preceding generations and their fighting spirit. He said the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum is an excellent educational centre for equipping service personnel, working people, youth and students with the President's Juche idea, anti-imperialist revolutionary idea, outstanding commanding art, military strategy and tactics and war methods. He underscored the need to improve the management and operation of the museum as required by the new century. It is necessary to intensify the work to discover more relics and mementoes related to the Fatherland Liberation War, he added. He underlined the need to properly use and steadily improve the system, contents, forms and methods of display to suit the characteristics of the museum. It is important to modernly renovate the museum as required by the Songun era as not a particular work has been done so far to improve the museum since it was newly built in 1974, he noted, and continued: The KPA should undertake the renovation project and successfully carry it out. He expressed expectation and belief that the officials and lecturers of the museum would creditably perform their honorable mission in the future, too. |
