Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- In his lifetime President Kim Il Sung won high admiration and deep trust from heads of state and people in many countries for his greatness in idea, leadership art and personality as well as for the feats performed for the times and revolution. Among them were Ho Chi Minh and people of Vietnam. "Comrade Kim Il Sung is the great leader representing the 20th century." This is what Ho Chi Minh said from the bottom of his heart after meeting with the President. Ho Chi Minh's admiration for Kim Il Sung was exceptional. It was in July Juche 46 (1957) that he met with Kim Il Sung in Pyongyang. Kim Il Sung spent hours with Ho, sharing views on a series of matters and introducing the experience the DPRK gained in building a new society. Before return home, Ho said it was regretful for him to have met Kim Il Sung so late. "I have acquired a lot of things during my three-day visit to the DPRK, which are too many to get in three years. I want to stay longer here to learn more from Comrade Kim Il Sung," he added. Reverence of Ho and his people for Kim Il Sung grew stronger in November 1958 when the latter visited Hanoi. A rally was held in a square in Hanoi on Nov. 28 in celebration of his visit to Vietnam. As Kim Il Sung concluded his speech there, the presider was going to the speaker's table to declare the close of the meeting. Just at that time, Ho Chi Minh spoke to the crowd that Kim Il Sung was a peerless hero who defeated two imperialisms for the first time in the East and an outstanding leader in building a new society. And he suggested chanting hurrah to express thanks to Kim Il Sung for implanting the spirit of Chollima (legendary horse running 400 kilometers a day) into the Vietnamese people. In a moment, the crowd burst into cheers of hurrah, led by Ho. The scene provided a glimpse of deep reverence of Ho and his people for Kim Il Sung. |
