Floral Tribute Paid to Kim Hyong Jik

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the statue of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea, in Ponghwa-ri of Kangdong County, Pyongyang, and before his grave at Mangyongdae on Tuesday, the 118th anniversary of his birth. Wreaths from the dear respected Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, were seen standing before the statue and the grave. Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim and Choe Ryong Hae, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Also present there were senior officials of the party, state and army, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel, working people and school youth and children. Laid before the statue and the grave were wreaths in the name of the C.C., the WPK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet. Also placed there were wreaths in the name of ministries and national institutions, KPA units, revolutionary schools, educational organs and party and power organs, enterprises and farms in Pyongyang. The participants paid silent tribute in memory of the immortal feats Kim Hyong Jik performed by dedicating himself to the struggle for the country's independence and the liberation of the proletarians. On this day floral tributes were paid to his statues at Kim Hyong Jik Military Medical University and in Sakju County of North Phyongan Province and Junggang County of Jagang Province. |
