S. Korea-Japan Military Tie-ups under Criticism: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- The south Korean warmongers staged a joint naval drill with the United States with the involvement of Japan's "Self-Defence Forces" for the first time in the southern waters off Jeju Island in June. Simultaneously, they contemplated concluding the General Security of Military Information Agreement with Japan. A bylined article of Rodong Sinmun Wednesday brands the south Korean warmongers' moves as reckless ones unprecedented since the end of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule. The article also calls them very adventurous crimes that allow Japanese reactionaries to pave the way for staging a comeback to Korea and jeopardize the destiny of the nation. The article says as follows to disclose the danger of the south Korean warmongers' moves: The act of the Lee Myung Bak group of helping Japan whet sword for reinvasion is a height of treachery beyond imagination. The reckless moves of the pro-Japanese traitors left the dignity and interests of the Korean nation violated and allowed Japan to revive militarism to stage a comeback to Korea under the sun flag. The Japanese reactionaries pinpointed the Korean Peninsula as a springboard for realizing their ambition for the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" and have attempted to launch reinvasion after Japan's defeat in World War II. Their moves have become more undisguised in recent years. Japan has tried to stretch the tentacles of the "SDF" to the Korean Peninsula. The Lee Myung Bak group, being aware of this, has committed itself to concluding the military agreement with Japan, a very dangerous act that ruins the destiny of the nation. The situation proves that the Lee group schemes to ignite a war against the DPRK under the pretext of "coping with provocations" and draw the U.S. and Japanese aggression forces into hurting its fellow countrymen. The Lee group intends to realize its long-cherished ambition for invading the DPRK counting on outside forces and drum up support from its masters to maintain its power. But its reckless moves can never be tolerated. |
