Minju Joson Discloses Japan's Intention in Expanded Military Activities in Oceans
Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- Japan sent warships to the U.S.-led RIMPAC joint military maneuvers that were kicked off in Hawaii and its surrounding waters on June 29.

On June 5 Japan sent three warships to the Philippines and on June 22 an oceanic trial fleet of the maritime "Self-Defense Force" entered the port in Mumbai, India, under the signboard of "friendly visit and joint drill".

Minju Joson Wednesday observes in this regard in a bylined commentary:

Japan's expansion of its military activities in the oceans is aimed to hold military hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region and become the "leader" of Asia.

The United States has to count on the potentials of its allies in the Asia-Pacific region if it is to hold military hegemony over it.

The Japanese reactionaries calculated if they take advantages of it, they can create conditions favorable to carrying out its militarist strategy of overseas aggression.

So Japan, as demanded by the U.S., is taking part in the joint military maneuvers involving the U.S. and south Korea, while pressing for the conclusion of the General Security of Military Information Agreement with south Korea.

Japan's participation in the maneuvers and its effort to boost military cooperation and exchange with Pacific nations are aimed at seizing "control" on major sea routes of the Pacific and ensuring the overseas military activities of its "SDF" in case of contingency.

Japan also seeks to establish a "fresh Asia order" controlled by it by containing its rivals.

Its indiscreet moves of intensifying military activities in the Asia-Pacific region have increased the risk of confrontation and conflict in the region.

Japan's ambition for reinvasion is as foolish as lifting an ax to drop it on its own foot.
