Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- In the period of the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953) President Kim Il Sung personally commanded many combats, including antiaircraft battle. It was one day in November Juche 39 (1950) when he called at an anti-aircraft artillery unit stationed near the Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army in Kosanjin. He taught the artillerymen how to down more enemy planes, saying that they have heavy duty to reliably defend the sky of the fatherland from the invasion of the U.S. imperialist air pirates. At that time a guard alarmed emergence of enemy planes. In that dangerous situation, President Kim Il Sung took care of artillerymen's camouflage and combat readiness. And he ordered an officer of the unit to start fire, encouraging the soldiers. The artillery pieces launched fire all at once under the officer's directive, and one enemy plane fell down in flames. The soldiers continued to fire guns with surging wrath and hatred. Another enemy plane was shot down and other planes ran away in the grip of fear. The soldiers in artillery position burst out into cheers of victory. The President congratulated them on their feat, saying that they were skilled in shooting. Through the combat, the soldiers became more convinced that the DPRK would surely win in the war as it was led by Kim Il Sung with distinguished military strategy and wisdom, matchless courage and gut. |
