U.S. MPs handcuffed south Korean residents while making rounds of their base surroundings some days ago, the editorial said.

The unequal south Korea-U.S. "Status of Forces Agreement" stipulates that U.S. forces shall not exercise police right single-handedly, it noted, adding such an act of the U.S. forces is contrary to this. The "government" should take an immediate measure to prevent the recurrence of GIs' crimes so that the people should not suffer, the editorial concluded.
