The statement recalled that Ro conducted such a patriotic action as visiting Pyongyang to take part in the 100th day memorial service for leader Kim Jong Il in March this year and discussed the issue of independent reunification of the country, visiting various parts of the DPRK.

The south Korean anti-reunification conservative regime, however, is accusing Ro of his Pyongyang visit, charging that he violated the "Security Law", the statement noted.

The statement said that Ro's determination to come back to south Korea via Panmunjom was an entirely just patriotic action to remind once again the world of the urgent need for the reunification of Korea and let it know about the Korean people's pain resulting from division.

The statement strongly demanded the south Korean regime release Ro immediately and unconditionally.
