At the conference the speakers noted the Pusan branch of the Intelligence Service and the security investigation group of the Pusan Police Agency forcibly searched the office of the youth organization conducting legitimate activities in Pusan area.

They even summoned and investigated four core members of the organization including its chief, the speakers added, and went on:

The public security authorities are so impudent and unjust as to charge that the organization conducted activities being affiliated to the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) and the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration. They even take issue with the content of the acting regulation of the organization which calls for supporting and implementing the June 15 joint declaration.

The on-going crackdown is a politically-motivated retaliatory move against the forces critical of the present "government" and a revelation of the attempt to create terror-ridden atmosphere under the pretext of "security" before the "presidential election" by branding the organization as an "enemy-befitting organization".

The speakers stressed the need to fight out against the reckless crackdown of the public security authorities whose purpose is to gain "actual results".
