Voice of Russia Comments on Scandals of S. Korean Ruling Quarters
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Voice of Russia in a commentary on July 12 dealt with scandals disclosed in an unbroken chain among the ruling quarters of south Korea.

Lee Sang Duk, elder brother of Lee Myung Bak, was put in custody by prosecution on charges that he received a fabulous amount of illicit money from different banks and big businesses as bribes, it said, and went on:

It is not only Lee Sang Duk but a mafia that were involved in the scandals. Among them were incumbent lawmakers from the ruling party and confidants of the "president".

They are now being questioned behind bars.

The detention of the elder brother of the "president" goes to prove that the bribery is commonplace among the clan of the south Korean "president". The recent case is the second political blow dealt at Lee Myung Bak and his confidants in recent days.

It was disclosed some days ago that the south Korean "government" attempted to conclude a military agreement with Japan, unknown to the "National Assembly" and the public.

The conclusion of the General Security of Military Information Agreement with Japan was pushed forward under the strong pressure of the U.S. The agreement calls on south Korea and Japan to exchange information about nuclear and missile activities of the DPRK. These issues are very serious for everyone.

The disclosure of the bribery case of Lee's elder brother compels Lee to drink a bitter cup of his political defeat with six months before the expiry of the tenure of his office. He will hardly save his face as "president".
