Rainy Season Begins, Typhoon 7 to Hit Korea
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- A rainy spell has begun in Korea on July 18.

There have been heavy rainfalls in most areas of the country, including Pyongyang City, from dawn.

In particular, downpour hit some areas of South Hwanghae Province. It rained 37 mm in Sinchon County from 06:10 to 07:00, 77 mm in Anak County from 06:20 to 08:20, 50 mm in Unchon County from 06:00 to 09:00 and 31 mm in Ongjin County from 04:45 to 05:30.

Meanwhile, 420 km-radius typhoon 7 is moving northward from the South Sea of Korea at a velocity of 22 km/h as of 09:00, with its central pressure as 985 hPa, maximum wind speed 25 m/s and wind speed 15 m/s.

It is expected to come to the waters off Jeju Island at around 15:00 Wednesday and reached at Kanghwa Bay at around 15:00 July 19, before entering the inland of Korea.

Downpour coupled with over 10m/s wind is forecast from this evening in North and South Hwanghae, South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces, affected by clouds hovering ahead of the arrival of the typhoon.
