The meeting serves as an important occasion for preserving the immortal feats Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed in the movement of Koreans in Japan and providing a bright future of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan along with the socialist homeland.

It was thanks to devoted efforts made by the officials of Chongryon chapters, who have become the roots supporting Chongryon and the community of compatriots, that Chongryon has been able to hold high the banner of the Juche idea and play the pioneer role in the movement of overseas Koreans despite the alternation of century and generations.

I pay a high tribute to elder activists of the chapters and patriotic compatriots who devoted their whole life to the road of patriotism, and extend warm thanks to officials of all the basic organizations of Chongryon including the chairmen of chapters who have defended the posts of the movement of Koreans in Japan that require display of patriotism following in the footsteps of forerunners without expecting any honor or comfort.

Chongryon and Koreans in Japan face honorable tasks to hold in high esteem President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il as eternal sun of our nation, uphold the Juche-based idea and cause of overseas compatriots' movement with loyalty and usher in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan.

You should keep step with the dynamic advance of the people in the motherland to a final victory, make a tangible contribution to hastening the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and the cause of building a thriving nation and create a favorable condition for the improvement of the DPRK-Japan relations and the activities of Chongryon by deepening friendship with the Japanese people.
