Their moves were disclosed by a defector to the south, Jon Yong Chol, in a press conference held at the People's Palace of Culture here on Thursday.

In the press conference Jon confessed his criminal acts in joining the operation to blow up a statue in the DPRK, which was engineered by the U.S. and the south Korean intelligence agencies.

Ro Tae Il, an officer of the North Phyongan Provincial People's Security Bureau, told KCNA:

"This is an intolerable politically-motivated terrorist case.

The case gives a glimpse of the moves launched by the United States and south Korea's Lee Myung Bak to hurt the dignity of the DPRK supreme leadership.

A sledgehammer should be dealt to the human dregs eager to undermine the DPRK's single-minded unity."

Han Won Guk, an officer of the Korean People's Army, said:

"The hysteric frenzy whipped up by the U.S. and the south Korean group of traitors to do harm to the dignity of the DPRK supreme leadership is tantamount to a declaration of a war.

Those provokers, including the members of 'statue demolition society' are bound to meet a miserable end.

We will make revenge upon them through retaliatory sacred war."
