Kyongsang Kindergarten Produces Many Music Talents
Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- Kyongsang Kindergarten in Changjon Street of Pyongyang is well known for training young musicians.

Over the past 30 odd years the kindergarten has produced many music prodigies.

Among them are Ma Sin A, who delighted leader Kim Jong Il with her skillful piano rendition at the concert for commemorating the Day of the Sun in 2010, and Yu Pyol Mi, who won the top and special prizes at the 56th Schumann International Juvenile Piano Concours.

They also include Choe Jang Hung, Ri Yu Jong, Han Si Nae and Pak Mi Yong, who bagged top prizes and special prizes at the 20th International Juvenile Chopin Piano Contest held in Poland this year, and those who played guitar quartet to win high admiration at the 9th international festival in Moscow.

Ri Myong Il, a conductor of the Unhasu Orchestra, Kim Ji Won, a composer of the Wangjaesan Light Music Band, Ryu Hyon Ho, a conductor of the State Merited Chorus, too, are graduates of this kindergarten.

Some days ago the dear respected Kim Jong Un visited the kindergarten and praised it for producing many music wonders, mentioning the names of some of them.

According to head of the kindergarten Ri Kang Juk, the kindergarten selects children with an instinct for music in a systematic way and applies teaching methods suitable to their intelligence and practical ability to help them have a basic knowledge of music.

Teachers' high abilities and sufficient equipment are also very important for education of children, she said.
