In this regard the Korean people have condemned their futile anti-DPRK plot.

Ri Yong Il, a section chief at the Secretariat of the C.C., Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, told KCNA:

"We should show no mercy to the enemies attempting to attack the dignity of our supreme leadership, an act of mangling our hearts.

President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il are saviors of the nation and the eternal lodestar of national reunification whom all the Korean people hold in high esteem as the sun for their destiny. Their statues and monuments erected everywhere in the country are associated with all Koreans' sincerity and will to hand down through generations the great feats of the peerlessly great persons for the nation and the world people.

The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' attempted subversive acts are a never-to-be-condoned hideous crime."

Son Kwang Sop, rector of Kanggye University of Education No. 2, said:

"The DPRK people would unhesitatingly go through fire and water to protect portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il from damage, entrusting their destiny and future to them.

It is our unshakable faith and will to regard and follow the great persons as our mental mainstay and the sun for our life."

U Tu Thae, manager of the Munphyong Smeltery, said:

"Our army and people will firmly defend Korean-style socialism at the cost of our lives from the enemy's politically motivated terrorist acts.

The south Korean group of traitors is well advised to renounce foolish attempts to break the single-minded unity of our society."
