|
|
Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The recent flood has heavily affected collieries in the east coastal areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The flood swept over 2,000-meter-long embankment in the Soksong Coal Mine under the Myongchon Area Coal Mining Complex, leaving not a few dwelling houses submerged and five destroyed. Hundreds of dwelling houses were submerged or crumbled in the Chonnae Area Coal Mining Complex. Nearly 1,000 tons of coal were washed away in Chonnae and Samchon coal mines respectively. Many sections of railway, roads, conveyances and electric wires were battered by the flood. Mudslides hindered transport of coal. The same holds true for collieries in Kowon area. Follow-up measures are being taken to recover from flood damage. |
