Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Rungna Islet in the Taedong River flowing through the capital city of Pyongyang has taken on a new look as a pleasure ground. Choe Tok Nam, an officer of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces who took part in the construction of this pleasure ground, told KCNA: "Rungna Islet, a scenic spot in Pyongyang, has turned into a fashionable pleasure ground under the deep care of Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. I was surprised to see him at the ceremony of opening the Rungna People's Pleasure Ground, because he came to the ground a day before the ceremony. The Supreme Commander visited the pleasure ground several times during its construction. He gave detailed guidance to the construction of dolphinarium, wading pool, fun fair, mini golf course and all other facilities in the ground so that they could be built on the highest level to suit the citizens' emotion and aesthetic sense. He also initiated an embankment project to prevent the islet from flood." Han Chol Sung, deputy department director of the Ministry of Light Industry, said: "At the ceremony held ahead of the war victory day, I was happy to see Marshal Kim Jong Un with a broad smile in his face. While touring the pleasure ground, he was pleased to see students enjoying themselves at the wading pool and hear laughter of citizens at funfair. People's happiness was just his pleasure. The Rungna People's Pleasure Ground is a product of his noble outlook on the people and future." |
