Amid strong public protest against the authorities' moves to railroad the bill on the military agreement with Japan, the Lee Myung Bak regime clarified its will to step up again the process for the agreement after shifting its responsibility onto a few officials, they said, adding:

The foreign and defense ministers who spearhead the conclusion of the agreement are evading the responsibility for it while talking about its validity. The "Saenuri Party" which holds majority seats of the "National Assembly", far from paying heed to people's voices, is putting aside the open questionnaire presented by civic and social organizations calling for proving the truth about the course of signing the agreement and even denying conversation with them, they deplored.

They branded the General Security of Military Information Agreement with Japan as a treacherous contract aimed to tighten military alliance for aggression and pave the way for "Self-Defense Forces" to advance toward the Korean Peninsula.

They demanded the authorities stop at once their moves to conclude the agreement.
