KCNA Commentary Warns Some S. Korean Opposition Politicians of Their Anti-DPRK Remarks

Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- Some politicians of opposition parties of south Korea were reported recently to have let loose a spate of invectives daring hurt the dignity and social system of the DPRK while making election commitments and clarifying their political stands. A presidential candidate from the Democratic United Party on July 16 asserted at a press conference that "the north needs an option for reforms and it would meet the same fate as Libya's". A spokesman for the Democratic United Party and the representative of the Unified Progressive Party talked such rubbish as "hereditary politics" and "human rights issue". What they uttered are unpardonable politically-motivated provocations as they mean joining the conservative group in south Korea in the confrontation with the DPRK. The forces of opposition parties once enjoyed certain political support as they called for improving the inter-Korean relations, opposed to the confrontation policy of the conservative group. But they are now busy dancing on a political rope, torn apart, instead of getting united on the basis of a correct political viewpoint. That is why they have failed to receive due support from the people. Some of them make no scruple of uttering any words in a bid to gratify their political greed while yielding to the conservative group's racket for "eliminating forces following the north" or reading its face. They just betray their disgusting true colors as wavering political servants bereft of any political creed. They are sadly mistaken if they calculate they can gain popularity by hurling mud at the DPRK and win the "presidential election." The DPRK will never allow anybody to hurt its dignity and social system and will never deal with such guys. The DPRK will remain unchanged in this principled stand whoever may come to power in south Korea. Those who recklessly join the conservative group in its moves to escalate the confrontation with compatriots are bound to meet a miserable end, rebuffed and condemned by justice. |
