Kim Song Il, vice-chairman of the Taehongdan County People's Committee, told KCNA:

"The county has built up minor power stations and updated all its factories with its own effort.

It also made a big progress in establishing the rotation production system in stockbreeding and potato farming.

The Taehongdan Potato Processing Factory began producing vinegar with potato by-products. The factory turns out varieties of processed potato products including soy, beer, sweet jelly and soda.

The county has succeeded in improving the quality of soap at a chemical factory.

I will work harder to turn the county into a well-off area, mindful of the tireless efforts made by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il to better the livelihood of the people in mountainous areas."
