The statement denounced the authorities for defying the long-cherished desire of the nation, driving the situation to the brink of a war through military maneuvers to invade the north and resorting to the dangerous and humiliating diplomacy in secrecy to conclude a military agreement with Japan.

It expressed towering anger at the Lee Myung Bak's regime which went brazen-faced enough to say without hesitation that "unification is near at hand" while committing treacherous actions inside and outside.

It urged the authorities to opt for warming the ties with the north in the spirit of the south-north joint declarations and contribute to replacing the Armistice Agreement by peace treaty, though belatedly.
