Present there were members of the Chinese delegation led by its Head Wang Jiarui and Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai.

Also present there were Vice-premier of the Cabinet Kang Sok Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK; Kim Yang Gon, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and Kim Song Nam, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK.

At the meeting Wang Jiarui conveyed greetings from the collective leadership of the CPC including General Secretary Hu Jintao.

He expressed deep condolences on the demise of leader Kim Jong Il, a close friend and teacher of the Chinese people. He said Kim Jong Il rendered great services for the Korean revolution and the development of friendly relations between China and the DPRK.

Noting that under the leadership of First Secretary Kim Jong Un the Korean people have achieved fresh and great successes in socialist construction, Wang said that the Chinese party and people are sincerely rejoiced over them.

It is the steadfast policy of the Chinese party and government to consolidate and develop the traditional Sino-DPRK friendly relations forged and developed by leaders of the elder generations of the two parties and two countries, he said.

He expressed belief that the Sino-DPRK friendship would bloom more beautifully and yield rich fruits.

Kim Jong Un expressed thanks for this and asked him to convey his regards to the collective leadership of the CPC including General Secretary Hu Jintao.

Kim Jong Un had a cordial and friendly talk with Wang Jiarui.

He received a gift from the Chinese delegation.

He hosted a dinner in honor of the Chinese guests.
