The U.S. imperialists' fleet staged joint naval maneuvers and counter-naval infiltration drill in coordinated operation with Japan and south Korean puppet forces, driving the situation in the surrounding areas to the brink of a war.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says in a bylined article in this regard:

The military drills served as a tool of the U.S. reactionary policy for blockading and stifling the socialist countries during the Cold War period by force of arms.

Today the U.S. has no justification or reason to stage RIMPAC as it was used as a lever for containing the socialist countries in the Cold War period.

This year's RIMPAC has a series of features of its own.

Naval forces of 17 countries and regions including the U.S. took part in the military drills in 2010. This year the number of the nations participating in the drills increased to 22.

What is noteworthy is that the drills between the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces and between the U.S. and Japan were staged in an integral way timed to coincide with the efforts for the formation of the triangular military alliance among the U.S., Japan and south Korean puppet regime.

In fact, the military games meant the declaration of the creation of the military alliance.

The recent RIMPAC was an adventurous preliminary war that targeted the DPRK in the light of its period, contents, nature and scale.

The U.S. war-like forces would be well advised to properly understand their opponent and give up their foolish attempt to browbeat the DPRK and gain something through the escalation of RIMPAC.
