The torch kindled by him to develop the local industry in the new century while providing field guidance to Changsong County, North Phyongan Province in November 2010, made the whole country alive with a drive for bringing about signal innovations and leap forward in this field.

Changsong where mountains turned into ones of treasures in the past century has become a model in developing the local industry in the era for great surge. Many local industrial factories in North Phyongan Province have been updated.

There are in Ryanggang Province many local industrial factories keeping their production going at a high rate on the basis of solid material and technological foundations including the Paektusan Blueberry Processing Factory, Samjiyon Soy and Bean Paste Factory, Hyesan Basic Foodstuff Factory, Kapsan Paper Mill and the Taehongdan Potato Processing Factory.

The local industrial factories in Jagang Province have been technologically updated by use of electricity generated by at least a hundred minor power stations in different parts of the province.

The number of the cities and countries managing their local economic life by their own efforts is increasing in South Phyongan and North and South Hwanghae provinces. Local industrial factories in Kaesong City are tapping their raw materials and resources.

Successes have been also reported from cities and counties of Kangwon Province as they have directed efforts to developing the local industry.

The local industry in the era of a great surge has been placed on an orbit of steady surge thanks to a high-pitched drive for developing the local industry in the new century.
