The joint conference held in August 1962 was a meeting of significance as it indicated the way for bringing about a new turn in the development of local economy and improving people's living standard by increasing the role of county as a regional base for socialist construction.

After the joint conference, the President in the work "Theses on the Socialist Rural Question in Our Country" considered it as an important issue of strategic significance in finally solving the rural problem and accelerating the socialist construction to increase the role of county and developed the theory on regional base in depth.

With the Changsong joint conference as an occasion, leader Kim Jong Il published works including "The Validity of Our Party's Policy on Developing Local Economy" and deeply proved the originality and validity of the President's idea and theory on the position and role of county and the development of local economy and developed and enriched them with new ideological and theoretical treasures.

Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to Changsong County on various occasions in the new century, making sure that Changsong County played a pioneer role in the development of local industry.

The idea and policy clarified at the joint conference are being successfully implemented under the outstanding and experienced leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Present at the meeting were senior party and state officials including Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam and Kim Phyong Hae, officials of ministries, national institutions, local party, power and economic bodies and working people.

Conveyed at the meeting was the work "Let Us Build All Counties into People's Paradise Good to Live in by Embodying Historic Spirit of Changsong Joint Conference" published by Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Changsong joint conference.

The reporter said that thanks to the idea and leadership of the President and Kim Jong Il, all cities and counties including Changsong County took on new looks as administrative organizations at the lowest level and political bases to successfully ensure the unified and comprehensive guidance of the party and the state. The DPRK has steadily advanced the drive to develop the local economy and improve the people's living standard, undeterred by any world-wide economic upheaval and the stringent economic blockade of the imperialists. This is a striking demonstration of the WPK's original idea of socialist construction and its wise leadership.

The reporter referred to the tasks for increasing the roles of the counties in every way to bring about a dramatic turn in the development of local economy and improve the people's living standard in hearty response to Kim Jong Un's work.
