During the period of mass literary and art pieces prize contests this year, more than 9,000 juvenile songs and poems, words of songs, lyrics, essays, fragmentary thoughts, etc. were presented, an increase of more than 1,000 from last year.

The works reflect the boundless reverence of the Korean people, including school youth and children, for Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.

There are works which impressively depict the devoted efforts and exploits performed by leader Kim Jong Il. They make readers look back with tears on the days of great loss to the nation.

Among them were literary and art pieces vividly reflecting the pledge of school youth and children to become young vanguard of Songun and children's guard intensely loyal to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Selected were many works dealing with the desire and enthusiasm of school youth and children across the country to embody Kim Jong Il's patriotism.

A ceremony of awarding the above-said prize took place at the Central Youth Hall on Wednesday.
