Present there were senior party and state officials including Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam and Kim Phyong Hae, officials of party, ministries, national institutions, local party, power organs and economic bodies and working people.

The seminar heard speeches made on the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for the development of the local industry and achievements gained in the industry. It discussed the tasks for remaining true to the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Choe Jong Gon, chairman of the North Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, at the seminar said that the Changsong joint conference marked a historic occasion as it helped bring about a signal turn in the development of the local industry and the improvement of the people's living standard by enhancing the county's role.

He noted that the period since the conference witnessed the appearance of many local industrial factories depending on locally available raw materials and resources in cities and counties of the province, a rapid increase in the production and such success as meeting the demands for most of consumer goods with its own products.

He noted that the county seat and farm villages were spruced up as required by the era of Songun and all areas of the province have developed evenly and overall standard of people's living in the city and farm villages improved.

Kim Chol Ung, chief secretary of the Changsong County Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said that the development of Changsong is a brilliant fruition of the President and the leader who dedicated all their lives to the people, praising the undying feats performed by the peerlessly great men for the building of a rich and powerful country.

Kim Song Gon, chief secretary of the Hwaphyong County, Jagang Province, Committee of the WPK, in his speech referred to the fact that the torch lit by the President in Changsong County flared up across the country under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il and Hwaphyong County brought about a great change in the development of the economy and agriculture and the improvement of people's living standard.

The experience gained by his county shows that if a county works hard with ardent patriotic desire to make even a trifling thing serve its people, it can improve their living standard, he said.

Jo Won Thaek, manager of the Maengsan County Foodstuff Factory in South Phyongan Province, recalled that the last five decades since the conference fully proved the validity and vitality of the WPK's policy for developing the local economy to steadily improve the people's living standard.

Kim Jong Ha working at the Secretariat of the Cabinet said that Marshal Kim Jong Un made public the work on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the conference, providing a powerful ideological and moral weapon for dynamically stepping up the building of a thriving nation.

He called upon all the people to become patriots of practical ability in the effort to turn their residential areas into lands of bliss by embodying Kim Jong Il's patriotism.
