Ri Kil Song, an officer of the Korean People's Army, told KCNA:

Under the banner of the Songun (military-first) politics, he had made an endless inspection of frontline military posts and worked heart and soul for strengthening the country's military muscles for scores of years in defence of the nation's destiny.

Pak Jong Min, a department director of the Ministry of Public Health, said:

"Leader Kim Jong Il's patriotic efforts brought about eye-catching achievements in this land.

He set a grandiose goal for building a thriving nation and made a long journey of field guidance to different units of the country, kindling the torch of industrial revolution in a new century and leading the dynamic drive for great upsurge.

Thanks to his patriotic devotion, the DPRK is now vigorously advancing towards the final victory, displaying its high dignity and might.

I will regard Kim Jong Il's patriotism as guidelines in my work."

Ri Yu Gyong, a student at Kim Chaek University of Technology, said:

"The work gives a glimpse of leader Kim Jong Il's great patriotism carried forward by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He feels Kim Jong Il's patriotism even in a blade of grass and a tree, inspiring all of us to follow it.

Always remembering the days when Kim Jong Un planted trees with servicepersons with much care and kindly took an old woman road-keeper by hands, I will prepare myself to be a genuine patriot in the Songun era."
