Kim Yong Nam Sends Message of Thanks to Lao President
Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, sent a message of thanks to Lao President Choummaly Sayasone on August 10, leaving the country after wrapping up his visit to it.

Kim in the message expressed deep thanks to the president, government and the people of Laos for warmly greeting him and his party and according them cordial hospitality.

Kim said that the two countries had an exchange of views on the issues of expanding and developing the long-standing traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in several fields and boosting the solidarity and cooperation in the regional and international arena and matters of mutual concern, and reached a consensus of views on them.

He stressed that his visit to Laos offered a significant opportunity for deepening friendship and understanding between the two peoples and propelling the development of bilateral relations.

He was convinced that the traditional bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation would as ever grow stronger as it had developed in the joint struggle for independence and socialism against imperialism.

Kim sincerely wished the fraternal Lao people greater success in their struggle to defend the revolutionary gains and consolidate the people's democratic system under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by the president. He also wished the Lao president good heath and happiness.
