Blazing Temperature Registered in Korea
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Blazing temperature has been registered in most areas of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from the beginning of August in the wake of July flood.

31-36 degrees Celsius was observed in daytime in Pyongyang, Phyongsong, Sariwon and Haeju cities from August 1 to 11, 3-6 degrees higher than the average year.

The highest daytime temperature in Sinuiju, Kanggye, Hyesan cities in the same period was 32-34 degrees Celsius, 3-4 degrees higher than the average year, and that in the east coastal areas from August 6 to 11 was 27-32 degrees Celsius, 2-4 degrees higher than average.

The average temperature in the first ten days of August was 28.2 degrees Celsius in Pyongyang, 28.9 in Haeju, 28.1 in Sariwon and 28.5 in Kaesong, an all-time record high. Such high temperature was registered in other areas, too.

This hot weather is due to the massive inflow of hot and humid air from subtropical zone, affected by the northwest Pacific high pressure after seasonal rainy front that moved north of 43 degrees north latitude.

Temperature in the mornings and evenings has gone down a bit from August 12 but the daytime temperature is expected to remain fairly high, according to weather experts.
