U.S. Disregards S. Korea in Tok Islets Issue: Specialist
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- A spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department reiterated Monday that Japan and south Korea should resolve the territorial dispute over a pair of islands in the Sea of Japan through dialogue.

The remarks of the senior U.S. official mean that the United States is considering as a "disputed issue" the Tok Islets, widely known in the world as islets belonging to Korea.

In this regard, KCNA met Associate Prof. Ri Ho at Kim Il Sung University, who is a specialist in geopolitics.

He said:

The spokeswoman's calling the Tok Islets "a pair of islands in the Sea of Japan" is indicative of which side the U.S. stands for.

The term "territorial dispute" is not understandable.

The Tok Islets are undoubtedly an inalienable part of the Korean territory.

The United States is one of the signatories to the Potsdam Declaration and the memorandums of the supreme command of the allied forces, worked out soon after the Second World War, which defined Tok Islets as ones under the jurisdiction of Korea.

Nevertheless, the spokeswoman said, "We take no position on this territorial dispute. We want to see our strong Pacific allies work this out together and work it out through a consensus."

Her remarks eloquently tell that the United States leaves no stone unturned to establish its domination over the Asia-Pacific region and that it does not deal with Japan and south Korea on an equal footing.

Now is the time that traitor Lee Myung Bak and the "Saenuri Party" of south Korea should know about their poor status, disregarded by their master, the United States.

The DPRK army and people will not remain a passive onlooker at the attempts to fish in troubled waters by meddling in the issues critical to the interests of the Korean nation.
