Flood Hits Kaesong City, North Hwanghae Provincial Areas

| Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- Flood, triggered by downpour on August 14 and 15, swept through Kaesong City in North Hwanghae Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, leaving more than 240 dwelling houses destroyed or damaged and some 660 people homeless. At least 2 200 hectares of cropland were inundated and scores of hectares washed away or buried in the city Meanwhile, the flood destroyed scores of houses and submerged more than 100 hectares of farmland in Jangphung County and other areas in the province. |
