Action for Checking Conclusion of Traitorous Agreement with Japan Declared in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- Members of more than 30 organizations of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on August 14 denouncing the south Korean regime for its moves to sign a military agreement with Japan. They included the Solidarity for Progress, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and the Confederation of Trade Unions. Speakers said at least 80 000 personages across south Korea have participated in the signature campaign opposing the conclusion of a military agreement with Japan from August 1 to 10. To sign the military agreement is a treacherous act of paving the way for Japan's comeback to Korea, they charged. The Lee Myung Bak regime, however, is neither punishing those involved in the move to sign the agreement in secrecy nor giving up the conclusion, they noted. It is the mindset of the people that south Korea should not conclude a military agreement with Japan, they said, warning the people will continue watching the regime. They will continue their struggle till the regime totally gives up the bid for the agreement, they declared. At the end of the press conference, representatives handed over the signature papers to Chongwadae. |
