According to an initial survey, from 12:00 Friday to 06:00 Sunday, 289 mm rainfall was observed in Phyongsan, 241 mm in Sinphyong and 231 mm in Kumchon counties, North Hwanghae Province, 260 mm in Sepho, 246 mm in Popdong and 204 mm in Ichon counties, Kangwon Province and 208 mm in Pongchon County, South Hwanghae Province.

Samsok District, Pyongyang City and Cholwon County, Kangwon Province experienced 189 mm rainfall and Singye County, North Hwanghae Province 184 mm.

Nearly 30 areas have been visited by a heavy rain above 100 mm up till now throughout the country.

It rained 86 mm in Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province, 68 mm in Ichon County, Kangwon Province and 60 mm in Yodok County, South Hamgyong Province from 03:00 to 06:00 Saturday, while 98 mm in Pongchon and 70 mm in Unryul counties, South Hwanghae Province from 06:00 to 09:00 Saturday and 103 mm in Phyongsan County, North Hwanghae Province from 09:00 to 12:00 Saturday.

The rainfall is expected to last until August 21.
