The situation on the Korean Peninsula has entered a touch-and-go phase due to the ongoing Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises, kicked off by the U.S. and south Korea.

On the supreme commander's order, all the servicepersons and people are now in combat posture to deal an annihilating blow to the provokers if they ignite a war.

The statement said if the U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea dare preempt reckless firing, it will not be confined to a local war and the DPRK will never miss the priceless golden opportunity but lead it to a sacred war for national reunification.

Local people of various social strata are petitioning joining or rejoining the Korean People's Army, determined not to miss an opportunity for bringing about national reunification.
