Rodong Sinmun Urges U.S. to Make Switchover in Its Policy toward DPRK

Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- The U.S. should immediately roll back its anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK, stop foolish state-sponsored, politically-motivated terrorism and war racket against the DPRK and make a bold decision to make a policy switchover, urges Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a byline article titled "The U.S. will have to pay a dear price for its hostile moves against the DPRK". In the October 12, 2000, DPRK-U.S. joint communique and the September 19, 2005 joint statement the U.S. said it has no intent to attack or invade the DPRK and confirmed its will to respect sovereignty of the DPRK and co-exist with it peacefully. But the U.S. has never abandoned its intention to antagonize the ideology and social system of the DPRK and stifle them, the article says, and goes on: The vicious cycle of confrontation and escalated tension is repeating itself on the Korean Peninsula and the prospect of its denuclearization is becoming gloomier due to the U.S. persistent hostile policy toward the DPRK. The U.S. will never be able to evade the blame for having laid a stumbling block in the way of settling the nuclear issue on the peninsula. The U.S. is going reckless, utterly ignorant of the disposition of the army and people of the DPRK dynamically advancing toward the building of a thriving nation by dint of single-minded unity. The Korean people are convinced that it was a just choice that they have bolstered up the war deterrent to protect the sovereignty of the country and the security of the nation from the U.S. evermore undisguised nuclear threat. The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK are fully ready to go into action. Sky-high is their determination to mercilessly meet any military challenge of the U.S. imperialists. |
