Ulji Focus Lens was replaced by Ulji Freedom Guardian in 2008. Since then, the aggressive nature of the joint military exercises has become evermore pronounced.

When the military maneuvers were staged under the changed codename the U.S. asserted that they were combined drills of new form as "the operations were spearheaded by the south Korean army and they were supported by the U.S. forces."

This bears a close resemblance to the situation on the eve of the June 25 war.

Just as what the U.S. imperialists did in those days their scenario is to stage a farce of transferring the right to command wartime operations to the puppet army and kick off Ulji Freedom Guardian to cope with it.

What should not be overlooked is that the U.S. hurled in the saber-rattling even military troops of different countries which had dispatched their troops to the Korean War, pursuant to the U.S. policy.

Through this the warmongers seek to revive the "UN forces" which exist only in name and get them ready to fight any war any time and thus ignite a war for aggression at any moment.

The aggressive nature of Ulji Freedom Guardian was clearly revealed in the whole course of the saber-rattling staged by the U.S. so far.

When they staged UFG in 2010, the warmongers conducted for the first time in history the operation for stabilization in top secrecy on the premise that the region of the DPRK came under their occupation. And they openly staged these drills last year.

The offensive drills against the DPRK including landing exercise, mobile exercise and shelling drill staged in spots simulating its coastal areas were conducted in different areas including five islands in the West Sea of Korea whenever joint war drills were staged.

This saber-rattling repeated itself across south Korea this year, too, creating a touch-and-go situation.

Newly deployed special vehicles MRAPs are involved in these exercises to pave the way for invasion of the DPRK. This clearly indicates what is the objective of the on-going saber-rattling.
