Members of the young vanguard of South Hamgyong Province took over the torchlight at the top of Machon Pass, Tanchon City, from those of North Hamgyong Province on August 18.

They passed through Tanchon City and Pukchong County amid welcome of people from all walks of life and youth and students.

They laid floral baskets and flowers before the mosaic depicting peerlessly great persons at the Tanchon Smeltery and the statue of President Kim Il Sung in Pukchong County before paying tribute to them.

They took part in a congratulatory meeting of officials of the General Bureau of Mining in Tanchon Area and hero miners and those who had the honor of being received by Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and young innovators of the affiliated enterprises and mines.

At the campfire meeting of youth and students of Pukchong County they expressed their will to spruce up their residential quarters as a place good to live and work.

They visited the Ryongjon Fruit Farm and Sojung Secondary School in Rakwon County where they looked back with deep emotion on the patriotic devotion made by the peerlessly great men to fruit farming and the education of youngsters.

Upon their arrival at Hamhung, they laid floral baskets and bouquets before the statues of the President in Hungnam District and on Tonghung Hill before paying tribute to him.

Going round the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, Ryongsong Machine Complex, February 8 Vinalon Complex and other industrial establishments and farms, they recollected the undying leadership exploits performed by Kim Jong Il in South Hamgyong Province till the last moments of his life.

At an oath-taking meeting of youth and students in South Hamgyong Province, speakers renewed their firm will to remain true to the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un and work miracles and innovations in every difficult and labor-consuming site for building a thriving nation.

The torchlight relay racers passed through Kumya and Kowon counties.
