The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in their joint statement on Aug. 11 said it was thanks to the anti-Japanese armed struggle organized by Kim Il Sung that the Korean people were completely freed from the colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists on Aug. 15, 1945.

Korea's liberation was a historic event that provided the Korean people with the way of revival and helped them greet the era of independence and the nation's restoration, the statement said, and went on:

Korea's liberation was not only the precious fruition of the hard-fought anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle staged by the Korean people under the banner of independence against imperialism guided by the Juche idea founded by Kim Il Sung but the brilliant fruition of the idea of attaching importance to army.

The struggle conducted by the Korean people for the nation's liberation under the leadership of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, invincible iron-willed and brilliant commander and gifted strategist, greatly encouraged the people of colonial countries struggling for their country's sovereignty and liberation.

The DPRK led by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un has now become a beacon of hope for the world people aspiring after independence.

The British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association released a statement on Aug. 13, referring to Korea's liberation and its historic significance.
