S. Korea's Lee Myung Bak Blamed for Reappointing Fascist as Human Rights Chairman

Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Hyon Pyong Chol has been reappointed as chairman of the "Human Rights Committee" of south Korea. This has stirred up a terrific furor among south Koreans. Lee Myung Bak, who is grappling with the vital issue of winning the popularity, has seated the fascist man on the chair of human rights chief of south Korea. This has naturally triggered off what Lee considered most undesirable. The south Korean Council of Churches in a statement opposed the reappointment, saying that since his taking office in 2009 Hyon has been blamed as a coattail rider for his ignorance of human rights issue. A spokesman for the Unified Democratic Party denounced Lee's decision of designating Hyon to the post again as an "insult to the south Koreans and a declaration of renouncement of human rights". The reappointment of Hyon to the post is aimed to turn the "Human Rights Committee" into a waiting maid subservient to the regime and an organization breeding plots against human rights in the DPRK. While holding the post of human rights chairman, Hyon hushed up the massacre of evacuees in Ryongsan, crackdown on candle-light demonstrators against the import of American beef, suppression of Ssangryong Motors Trade Unions, illegal surveillance of civilians and other human rights abuses by the puppet regime. It was Hyon's clan that deleted words of repealing the "National Security Law" from the "draft suggestion for the basic human rights plan". Besides its human rights abuses, Hyon committed the whole gamut of grafts including speculation in real estate and his son's evasion of military service. Three years ago, nearly 60 members of the human rights institution clarified their stand in group to resign on account of Hyon, touching off a big furor. This fact alone is enough to know what sort of man he is. Irony is that he has kicked up anti-DPRK campaign, crying out for drawing up a "human rights improvement plan" and instituting "north Korean human rights law" under the pretext of its human rights performance. For all his earlier acts, Hyon was voted down at a confirmation hearing of the "National Assembly," and even the ruling party opposed his reappointment. However, traitor Lee Myung Bak let Hyon hold the post, a blatant challenge to human rights. This is aimed to cover up human rights abuses Lee committed during office and continue anti-DPRK human rights campaign till the last day of his office. This is little short of going against the people's mindset. Imbeciles have limited thinking power. |
