Present there on invitation were Vice-Premier of the Cabinet Kang Sok Ju, Secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Yong Il, Minister of Railways Jon Kil Su, Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Ryong Nam, Chairman of the Commission for Joint Venture and Investment Ri Kwang Gun, and officials concerned.

The participants watched Korean documentary film "Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Pays an Unofficial Visit to Siberian and Far Eastern Regions of Russia".

Then a reception was given.

Alexandr Timonin said that Kim Jong Il's visits to the Far Eastern Region and Siberian and Far Eastern Region of the Russian Federation made a contribution to actively promoting the development of the friendly relations between the two countries and boosting cooperation in different fields.

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, is paying deep attention to developing the friendly relations between the two countries, he said.

He also said it is important for Russia to have good neighborly relations with the DPRK.

Kang Sok Ju said that Kim Jong Il's visits to the Far Eastern region and the Siberian and Far Eastern Regions of the Russian Federation marked a landmark event in boosting the relations between the DPRK and Russia to a new higher stage in conformity with the aspiration and desire of the peoples of the two countries.

He noted that the DPRK-Russia friendly and cooperative relations are steadily developing in various fields under the deep care of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

He expressed belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Russia would grow stronger thanks to the common efforts.

On the same day, the Russian consulate general in Chongjin also gave a reception.
