The work was read out by the president of the Association who is also chairman of the National Coordinating Committee of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of the association to be followed by speeches.

The deputy coordinator of the National Coordinating Committee said:

Leader Kim Jong Il set an example of patriotism while wisely leading the Korean people's struggle for defending the country and achieving its prosperity.

He always had his beloved country and its people in his mind.

He performed great exploits for the times and history, dedicating his life to the country and its people.

He set forth the principle of Songun which calls for putting forward the People's Army as a driving force for protecting the sovereignty of socialist Korea and led the army and people of the DPRK to fulfill their missions and tasks for defending the country.

His absolute trust in and love for people generated tremendous might of single-minded unity in the DPRK and this served as a source of inexhaustible strength which no nuclear weapons can ever overpower.

Kim Jong Il's patriotism is fully reflected in the slogan "Let Us Live Not Merely for Today but for Tomorrow!"

This slogan teaches not only the Korean people but the world progressives how they should live and work to love and glorify their country.
