The Peruvian National Independent Movement for Free Voting's Union and the General Kim Jong Il Peruvian Amicable Institute issued a joint statement on August 18.

The joint statement said President Kim Il Sung laid down the line for defeating Japanese imperialism by force of arms in the early period of his revolutionary activities, giving origin to the history of the Songun revolution.

Since Kim Jong Il started the Songun revolutionary leadership on August 25, 1960, he had invariably adhered to the line of Songun while leading the revolution and construction for more than half a century, the statement said, adding:

Thanks to his Songun leadership, socialist Korea could defend socialism despite the imperialists' moves to stifle it in the middle of the 1990s.

It is foolish, indeed, for the U.S. imperialists and their followers to talk about "change" and "collapse," still remaining ignorant of the DPRK's invariable will to pursue Songun and its might.

Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, is creditably carrying forward the Songun idea of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. This idea serves as an ever-victorious banner of the DPRK.

We extend full support and solidarity to the struggle of the WPK and the Korean people vigorously advancing towards a final victory under the uplifted banner of Songun, united close behind Kim Jong Un.

The Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea in its statement on August 17 said the exploits of Kim Jong Il who bolstered up the national power of socialist Korea in every way by dint of Songun would last forever.

The committee expressed conviction that the Korean people would surely emerge victorious in their struggle to build a thriving socialist nation, reunify the country and accomplish the cause of independence against imperialism under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
