Jo Hui Sung, director of the History Institute of the Korean Academy of Social Sciences, told KCNA:

"The dear respected Kim Jong Un's speech is as good as a death sentence to the U.S. imperialists.

He gave an order, during his inspection tour of an island defence detachment in the southwest front, that if the enemies fire even a single shell on our inviolable territory or territorial waters, the Korean People's Army should deal prompt deadly blows at them and the whole army should turn out as one and lead the battle to an all-out counter-offensive for accomplishing the great cause of national reunification.

He said in his speech that he examined the operational plan for implementing it and finally signed it.

The speech signals a victory in fighting against the U.S. imperialists for national reunification."

Pak Kyong Sik, a department director of the Korean Revolution Museum, said:

"The dear respected Kim Jong Un in his speech said, 'Counter a provocation with a prompt counterattack and a war of aggression with a great, just war for national reunification!'

Reporting his speech, foreign media said it has overpowered the joint military exercises launched by the U.S. and the south Korean regime."
