The square echoed with shouts of the participants pledging to remain faithful to the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Ri Chung Il, a delegate of the Korean People's Army to the celebrations of the Youth Day, told KCNA:

"Generalissimo Kim Jong Il handed over a baton of revolution to us young people in this square seventeen years ago.

The baton carried his deep trust in the youths carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche through generations.

I'll be intensely loyal to the Songun (military-first) leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un, as the elder generations did to Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il."

A delegate, Kim Jin Sok, said:

"We, the DPRK young people, will firmly maintain the idea and cause of the Generalissimos and play a key role in building a socialist thriving nation.

Under any circumstances, we'll follow only the idea and leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

I'll perform heroic feats in building edifices."

Jong Un Hyang, a student of Kim Il Sung University, said:

"We are happy to significantly celebrate the Youth Day amid deep interest of the entire people.

With a pride of being a youth living in Kim Jong Un's era, I will study hard to contribute to making the country prosperous."
