Typhoon-14 Weakens to Be Depression

| Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Typhoon-14, which reached the southern coast of Jolla Province, south Korea Thursday, lost its force while passing through inland areas and turned to be a depression in the area of North Kyongsang Province. Affected by the typhoon, it rained 10 to 40 mm in most areas of Kangwon Province and it also rained in South Hamgyong Province and eastern area of North Hwanghae Province and southern area of South Hwanghae Province from Thursday morning to Friday morning. A wind of 10 meters per second swept some areas of Kangwon Province, including Kumgang County. The typhoon caused not big damage in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, because it moved towards the south part more rapidly than expected. |
