Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The Independence Museum of south Korea discovered and opened to public a Japanese map and textbooks on Aug. 28 proving Japan's unjust claim to Tok Islets according to the south Korean newspaper Daily Economy. The Japanese map in the volume 2 of the newly compiled geographical description in 1887 showed that it underlined islands of Japan to indicate that they belong to its territory whereas it marked Tok Islets in the same way as it did Ullung Island, making it clear that they belong to the territory of Korea. The geography textbook for primary schools published by the then Ministry of Education of Japan in 1905 did not mark Tok Islets as part of its territory. The "Japanese history", the textbook screened by the Ministry of Education in 1886, had no description of Tok Islets. The museum said "the results of the review and analysis of the recently discovered books can confirm Japan had no territorial intent on Tok Islets at that time". |
