Kim Jong Il started the Songun revolutionary leadership through his field guidance to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, 1960 which was a brilliant succession to the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung, the statement said.

It praised the President for founding the Korean People's Revolutionary Army after acquiring deep insight into the truth that Koreans should hold arms in their hands to advance the Korean revolution and liberate the country and developing it into a powerful Juche-based armed forces.

Thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il the DPRK has turned into the Juche power with the capability for self-defence and the Korean people protected socialism from provocations and threats by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet clique and achieved great successes in the building of an economic power, the statement noted, adding:

The Songun revolutionary cause of Juche has been successfully carried forward by the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

It hoped the Korean people under the guidance of Kim Jong Un would make greater achievement in their struggle.
