Rodong Sinmun Condemns U.S. MD Moves

Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) -- Of late, the U.S. State Department spokesperson, when asked about the U.S. stance toward the media reports about the U.S. stepped-up expansion of the missile defence system (MD) in East Asian region, made such poor excuses that the MD is not targeting China. He further described it as defensive, saying that it stems from the fear of the "missile threat from North Korea".

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a bylined article says in this regard:

What the spokesman said is just a pretext to justify the U.S. arms build-up.

The U.S. MD plan encompasses the whole world including the Northeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

After cease of the Cold War, the U.S. pushed ahead with the MD establishment in real earnest, another version of the "star wars", under the pretext of coping with what it called new "challenge".

The MD which is now in the phase of deployment for actual wars by joint efforts of the U.S. and Japan covers the vast areas of Asia including the Korean Peninsula, the northeastern region of China as well as the Far Eastern region of Russia.

The U.S. is seeking to draw south Korea and other countries to the system.

After revising the original plan to establish MD only in Poland and the Czech Republic of Europe, the U.S. is now busy making preparations for its establishment in the vast areas of Europe.

U.S. missiles are being deployed in Turkey and Israel.

The U.S. MD moves are, in essence, aimed to form a powerful missile attack network on Eurasia.

Such action will spark off a new arms race in the Asia-Pacific region, seriously threatening the peace and security in the region.

The world peace-loving people should wage dynamic actions to foil the U.S. moves, properly understanding the criminal nature and danger of the MD moves.
